10. Rogers Pass, Montana, USA
It is actually one of the warmest places on the list since the temperatures go between 14 and 33 degree and that is a little above freezing. The lows usually last from October until April, but at least the summers are pretty warm with the temperatures getting to 82 degrees in July. If you are there during the winter months just remember that it only starts warming up around Easter. Of course this is also the only area that has had the lowest temperature recorded too, negative 70 degrees back in 1954.
The temperatures are very low here, in December it is a -54 degrees and every January they get temps that are -1 degrees. The population is only 63 people but the funny thing is that they have a mayor, a chamber of commerce, and even a museum. If you are looking for a place to go that has a beach and sunny weather then this is not going to be it since there warmest weather is only about 78 degrees in July but ten nights out of the month they get very frosty type weather.
8. Prospect Creek, Alaska, USA
With a population of absolutely zero, this place has weather that is cold and still cold during the summer months. It also beat Rogers Pass for lowest temperature back in 1971 because it got to negative 80 degrees. In the seventies there was a population of a few thousand because construction works lived there while building the pipeline system but as soon as that job was finished, the place was abandoned and no one has actually lived there since then.
7. Snag, Yukon, Canada
People use to live here in the 40s but now no one occupies the area at all. The ones that did was natives and fur traders and then the people that worked at the air strip that was there which was only about fifteen or twenty other people. In 1968 the air strip shut down and everyone left town and never returned. The hottest it gets is 34 degrees in the summer months.
6. Oymyakon, Russia
They have a record of the lowest temp being -90 degrees from 1933. During the months of December, January, and February the temperatures are in the negative fifties. In summer you will see that the weather will be in the high fifties. 472 people occupy the town which is actually big compared to other places on this list. With no permanent inhabitant for the research base it is hard to do certain things. There is a lot of plants because there is very little moisture. It is known as The Garden Spot Of the Arctic. It is great for nesting birds and oxen and fox roam around. It is a place of great contrast.
4. Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
One of the most populated places. It is high up which makes it cold for you to live here. It is about one thousand three hundred and ten m above sea level. About one million two hundred and seventy eight people live here. Has great museums like Zanabazar Museum of Fine Arts. the temperatures are around negative sixteen degrees so people do not like to stay outside. They are said to be very friendly here so that is a plus.
3. Eismitte, Greenland
The temps here are between negative eighty five and twenty seven. July is suppose to be the warmest time but it only gets to about ten degrees so it is not actually warm. February is the coldest at negative fifty three. If you do plan to go here you will either lose your toes and feet or fingers and hands because it just can not be a place to live at. People have went and lost their lives because of frostbite.
2. North Ice, Greenland
Not much is known about this place because it is so cold. The last temp that was recorded was negative eighty seven and that was done on January ninth of nineteen fifty four. It is said that it is a tourism site. Pretty sure no one will want to go on a holiday vacation here anytime soon. The fact that no one has gone back to record new records shows it is not a great place to go unless you do not want to live and freeze to death.

Again it was recorded that January is the warmest being only negative twenty five point eight degrees. It is three thousand four hundred and eighty eight meters above sea level.
