France is a country that is best known for producing talented artists and painters. In my article, we are going to look on some of famous and great painters and artists. Below is a list containing famous and great painters that ever existed in France.

10. Jean Auguste- Dominique Ingres
Jean was born on 29th August 1780 and died on 14th January 1867. He was a classic French painter popular among many people. For those years that he lived, August performed fantastic work in his paint arts. In painting industry, this great man was being assisted by Nicolas Poussin and Jackques Louis David. Both of them worked together in painting and drawing pictures that many people came to admire very much. Most of his work was celebrated in Rome and Paris. However dead, we cannot stop appreciating him.
9. Edgar Degas
This is another French man with a painting and drawing career, who lived between 19th July 1834 and 27th September, 1917. Edgar Degas was born in Paris France. He died at a very young age of 33 years only. Not only painting, Degas is also did a lot of drawings, sculptures and prints. Edgar is regarded as one founders of Impressionism. Many people are not aware of this secret because he rejected that title immediately after coming up with that great idea. Before his death, Degas was well prepared academically for his work. His dream was to be a history painter and that is exactly what he became.
8. Henri Matisse
This French artist is best known for using both color and fluid to make original or traditional draughtsman ship. You can comfortably call him a draughtsman, sculptor and printmaker. Henri Matisse was born on 31st December, 1869, in Le Cateau-Cambresis, Nord, France and died on 3rd November, 1954 at 85 years of age. Henri left behind a great title in both France and foreign countries. He worked hand in hand with Marcel Duchamp and Pablo Picasso and we cannot stop celebrating him hence appearing in this list.
7. Henri Rousseau
Here is another Henry making in our list today of most famous and greatest French painters. Also known as Rousseau, this great artist was born on 21st May, 1844, in Laval Mayenne and died on 2nd September, 1910. His painting work was mostly featured on primitive and Naïve manner. This great man from France worked so hard to achieve High class and quality arts and images that gained him a lot of fame. Most of his family members were plumbers and that is where Henry began working when he was a little boy but later achieved his dreams.
6. Pierre Bonnard
I cannot forget mentioning Pierre Bonnard as one of this article contribution so far. He was born on 3rd October, 1867. He was a French printmaker and Painter. Being a founder and member of post Impressionist group of Avant-garde, Pierre believed in working most of his arts from memory. Normally, Bonnard referred to some of his drawing and that is how he made to be amongst successful, greatest and famous painters from France. Entire France community recognized fantastic work done by him for those years that he lived. Pierre committed himself in doing spiritual nature and symbolic work.
5. Berthe Morisot
Berthe Morisot is another famous and greatest French artist who cannot be left out of this article. Most of her work began in 1864 and became very active before dying on 2nd March, 1895. Berthe was born on 14th January, 1841, in Bourges, Cher, France and died at an age of 54 years. Before her death, Morisot was first a member of a circle of painters in Paris Known as Impressionists. She worked hand in hand with Mary Cassatt and Marie Bracquemond. Berthe was highly sponsored by government of France in painting career and as a result, she became famous and successful. 4. Jacques Louise David
David is also a member of this article contributing greatly and being positioned forth. Many art clients in France and other foreign countries for Neo classical styles best knew him. Jacques worked closely with some history painters and did great work. Between 1758 and 1794, Louise became an active member and supporter of French Revolution. He developed unique styles in painting and drawing. Some of his articles are featured in modern films up to date. However, in 1982, David is featured as a silent character in a historical drama.

Edourdo Manet was born on 23rd January 1832, Paris, France and died on 30th April, 1883. He was a great French painter who existed in 19th century and did a lot of paints that is mostly used by modern people in decorating house especially Kitchen and sitting rooms. Due to political Connection, Manet scooped some support from government authority and that aided him in getting famous. As a result, his work gained a lot of market value hence high market demand. We cannot stop celebrating this great man for his fantastic work.

This man was much respected and appreciated in France for being a great Impressionist. Pierre produce great paints that were being featured by very many clients and as a result of that, he became famous and successful. For those years that Renoir lived, people regarded him as a true and talented French artist. We feature him in this position for being a role model for many painters in France.

He was a famous and successful French Painter and founder of French Impressionist Painting. Claude Monet or simply Oscar was born on 14th November, 1840 and died 5th December, 1926 after undergoing through serious sickness. Most of his painting gave a lot of impression for many clients in France and other countries. He is known for struggling so much in finances in bringing up his talent. Claude worked in many departments with an aim of raising funds Painting business. Today, we celebrate him for good work.
