No, Neri Oxman is not an actress, but she is an example of someone very famous and intelligent, and has contributed not only to American, but worldwide culture in other ways. She is an innovator, a activist, and a biologist. She hails from Haifa, Israel, holding a degree in architecture and design. She loves to work as an interior designer and has been the lady behind the popular exhibitions of Boston, France, Beijing, and New York City.
She has founded the Mediated Matter Research Group at MIT Media Lab. She is currently 40 years old. Her parents were both architects, so she is a perfect example of a daughter who followed in her parents footsteps and became successful.
After 2 years she switched to studying architecture at Technion, at the London School of Architecture, graduating in 2004. In 2005 she moved to Boston to enter the PhD program, under adviser William J. Mitchell. She eventually became associate professor at MIT, in 2010.
9. Bar Refaeli
She is probably best known for being an Israeli model who worked for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issues. She is a spectacular, talented model and actress who began modeling work at age 15. She has won various modeling contests, and appeared in numerous fashion campaigns, as well as TV commercials. She was the cover model of the 2009 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. She is now 31, being born June 4, 1985. She is the highest paid model in all of Israel, as of 2013. She was born to a mother who was a successful model in the 1970s. She has modeled from the time she was a baby, when she first appeared in commercials.
Her success has not only been limited to modeling, however. She has acted in the TV dramas as well, and had her own hosting experience on Bravo. She has also starred in “Session,” a thriller about a psychiatrist who becomes obsessed with a mental patient.
8. Israela Avtau
This model has had to overcome one obvious impediment: the color of her skin. You see, in Israel, black is not necessarily considered beautiful. She is Ethiopian by descent. She was the winner of the Israeli Elite Top Models Contest, at age 18. The Top 10 Famous website describes her as a “successful and graceful Jewish model.” She is said to be the highest paid Jewish model, only after Bar Rafaeli.
She left Israel due to lack of finding work because, as I said earlier, for some reason, Israeli culture looks askance at the idea that black can be beautiful. Born in 1988, she is currently 28 years of age.
7. Dianna Agron
She is American, born to Jewish parents in Savannah, Georgia. At age 9, she moved with her parents to California. She attended Hebrew school there, and had a Bat Mitzvah–a female Bar Mitzvah. She began her acting career on Shark, and went on to play in “CSI: NY”; “Numbers,” “Verona Mars,” and “Close to Home.” Her most notable role to date has been that of Quinn Fabray, the high school cheerleader, in the recently cancelled “Glee.” On July 23, 2012, it was announced that Agron was to be demoted as guest star.

She was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 1984. She is known for her roles in “Ghost World,” “The Avengers,” “Lucy,” and “Don Jon,” among many others. She is part Danish and part Jewish. She is considered one of Hollywood’s sex symbols, and has frequently appeared in listings as one of the greatest modern sex symbols of our time. As of July 2016, she has been billed as one of the highest grossing actresses of all time in North America, and the 10th overall, with her movies making over 3 billion dollars, according to Wikipedia. Her father is Karsten Johansson, an architect from Copenhagen, Denmark. Her mother, Melanie Sloan, is Jewish.
She began her theatrical training by attending and graduating from Professional Children’s School in Manhattan, back in 2002.
However, her acting connections were well-established well before then. She made her film debut at age 9 as the late John Ritter’s daughter in the 1994 fantasy comedy, “North.” Then she did “Home Alone” in 1997, and had a role in 1998’s “Horse Whisperer.”

But it was not until her trip to Trinidad, when she had gained experience singing backup in a friend’s band that she decided that she wanted to sing and play music to the exclusion of everything else.
